Over 35,000 businesses have been accredited by SafeContractor, and here at LSS we are delighted that we have successfully obtained our own accreditation from the organisation. Being SafeContractor accredited shows our people and our customers that our health and safety, equal opportunities, diversity, and environmental management policies and documentation are up to date and meet all the standards for our industry.
NHS
Lightning Safety Systems has been named as a supplier on NHS Shared Business Services' Hard Facilities Management 2 framework agreement. Specifically, Lot 8.2 - Fire Safety Equipment and Maintenance allowing us to offer design, supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and emergency 24/7 call out of the following:

CHAS
CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is an accreditation that proves a business’s health and safety processes meet excellent standards. Qualified health and safety professionals carry out CHAS assessments of a business’s documentation, to confirm they’re fulfilling everything required by law. Lightning Safety Systems have demonstrated compliance to CHAS Advanced (PAS 91) which includes areas such as: H&S, Financials, Environmental, Quality Management, Equal Opportunities, Modern Slavery and Corporate & Professional Standing.
In addition to this, Lightning Safety Systems have been awarded SSIP or Safety Schemes in Procurement. Having a current SSIP accreditation demonstrates that a business have been subjected to a thorough Health and Safety assessment and met the required standards, thus helping to mitigate customers potential liabilities if they engage their services.
BAFE
BAFE is the independent registration body for third party certificated fire protection companies across the UK. They develop schemes to support quality standards for fire protection companies to achieve and become Third Party Certificated.
Lightning Fire Safety Systems Limited have attained
- BAFE SP101 as a certified Fire Extinguisher Service Provider and
- BAFE SP203, which covers Design, Installation, Commissioning, Handover and Maintenance disciplines under the BAFE Modular scheme SP203-1 for Fire Detection & Alarm Systems.
BAFE have now brought in a new scheme whereby only one logo is used and it contains a specific ID number relevant only to the company concerned.
This scheme certifies companies to be accredited with third party auditing bodies on all of these disciplines.
Constructionline
Originally created as a Government department, Constructionline collects, monitors, and assesses standard company information. It acts as the largest pre-qualification database in the UK as well as the UK’s leading procurement and supply chain management service. We are proud of our Gold membership, which certifies that Lightning has met pre-qualification requirements appropriate to public and private sector procurement.

FIA
The FIA, (Fire Industry Association) are a not-for-profit organisation whose goal is to promote, improve and perfect fire protection methods, devices, services and apparatus. They promote and shape legislation and the professional standards of the fire industry in conjunction with the Government as well as other official bodies. They are the largest fire protection trade association in the UK, and our certification admits us to full membership of the FIA.

Kitemark Fire Alarm Installation
Having a Kitemark for Fire Alarm Systems Installations gives us the certification recommended by the Chief Fire Officers Association for companies who design, install, commission, and maintain fire detection and alarm systems.
NIC EIC Approved Contractor
The NICEIC Approved Contractor scheme is for electrical contractors undertaking design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671. In order to gain and keep this accreditation, contractors are regularly assessed to ensure competence and capability, and that they meet technical and safety standards, and codes of practice. By having this, we demonstrate our continual high standards and commitment to quality service, as well as expertise and legal adherence.
NIC EIC Domestic Installer
The NICEIC Domestic Installer scheme covers contractors who carry out installations in domestic properties. The importance of using a Domestic Installer is paramount, in order to comply with the requirements of ‘Part P’ of the Building Regulations. By gaining NICEIC Domestic Installer accreditation, we demonstrate the value of an accreditation set up in approval with the Government to assess contractors to a common standard, ensuring we meet compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations.
NSI Gold
NSI Gold approval is a highly respected and trusted hallmark in the security and fir sectors, demonstrating technical expertise and a reassuring quality of service. We decided to go for Gold approval, which includes in all cases ISO9001 approval for Quality Management Systems, because this provides additional customer confidence in the high quality product and service offering that Lightning Safety Systems consistently offers.

URS UKAS
United Kingdom Accreditation Service, this government-appointed agency is solely authorised to assess the ability and competence of organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection, and calibration services.
