Corporate Social Responsibility
We at Lightning Fire are a small, established and growing business based near the south coast of England who place family values at the heart of our business. We believe that there are four major areas of CSR which are particularly important and pertinent to ourselves and to all the stakeholders involved with our business, these areas perfectly align with our vision, mission and values.
Vision: “To become the preferred service provider to our market sectors achieved via the integrity & performance of our motivated & focused work force”
Mission: “To keep our customers safe, compliant and able to trade”
Values: The context of “family” binds our core values, our business is jointly owned by four family orientated shareholders and our business will be run and viewed as our extended family
Respect – treat all stakeholders as you would want to be treated yourself
Honesty – in all dealings with all stakeholders of the business at all times
Belonging – feeling part of a team where everyone contributes and is valued
Integrity – acting ethically ensuring compliance, professionalism and transparency
Responsibility – we all own problems, accept accountability and provide solutions
We are totally committed to becoming an “employer of choice” whereby we provide secure, challenging and enjoyable employment for all of our team within a culture of personal development & encouragement whilst offering a wide and innovative range of benefits and perks.
We will treat everyone equally irrespective of age, perceived disability, race or religion. We have just signed up for the Apprenticeship Programme and have two young apprentices who have just set out on the road to achieving approvals and qualifications in electrical engineering and business management.
We aim, in conjunction with being an “employer of choice”, to have a motivated and focused workforce who are committed to achieving the company’s goals and objectives whilst consistently enhancing our levels of service to all customers.
We will always act in a professional, compliant and respectful manner with all stakeholders and our business ethics will centre around the approach of compliance, honesty, transparency and decency.
We aim to try and support the community by providing rewarding employment for local people. We also get involved in helping the local community in ways such as our company directors helping on a purely voluntary basis to run Waterlooville cricket club and Horndean Hawks Football Club. In addition to helping run these clubs the company also provides sponsorship for both of them.
We always strive to be aware of our environment and are approved and authorised by the Environmental Agency, we have replaced all of the lighting in our new office with LED products which are far more environmentally friendly, we dispose of all waste in an approved and regulated way and one of our directors drives an electric car.
In conjunction with our community initiatives we also support and raise funds for the Elizabeth Foundation, The YOU Trust and Cycling Without Age. We already have our first fund raising initiative underway and future events include members of staff undertaking bike rides around the Isle of Wight.
